Then look no further; Art Van Furniture, the Mid-West’s largest Furniture and Mattress retailer, is seeking a Merchandise Coordinator in the Merchandising Department.

You may be asking yourself, what competencies would we be looking for in a Merchandise Coordinator?  Well, we are glad you asked!  In this position, directly reporting to the Senior VP of Pure Sleep, you will be responsible for coordinating and preparing marketing assets, on behalf of the merchants in accordance with the annual marketing calendar.  This individual is tasked with supporting the merchant team in driving overall promotional effectiveness and productivity. Works closely with the merchant, marketing, and planning teams to ensure product turn in and ad planner updates

Other responsibilities include:

  • Support the merchants to execute against the marketing and promotion calendar on time and accurately
  • Participate in weekly/monthly divisional marketing
  • Update and maintain Ad Planner including print, broadcast, and digital media
  • Coordinate product planning across divisions for all marketing assets
  • Follow up and turn in all marketing assets on time, including print, broadcast, and digital media
  • Assist in establishing forecasts and tracking actual performance
  • Help create social media content to support the development of the Art Van brand
  • Manage clean sheet room and organize/archive historical marketing assets

Skills / Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandise, Advertising/Marketing, Analytics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail merchandise
  • Knowledge or pre-production/ pre-press
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook
  • Must be extremely organized and self-motivated, with excellent organizational and proofreading skills
  • Must be able to react and adapt to constantly changing details and priorities
  • Ability to respond positively and act with urgency to challenging work and deadlines
  • Work as an integral part of a talent team, using sound judgment, in a fast-paced environment
