Job Description

Art Van Furniture, the Midwest’s premier furniture and mattress retailer and one of America’s top 10 furniture and mattress retailers, is seeking an experienced Web/Mobile - Designer/Developer to join our Information Technology Department.


Under the direction of the Director, eCommerce Applications, this position will be responsible for the design, development and evolution of web page environments that deliver modern, engaging and dynamic customer experiences. Specific job duties include:



  • Work as a member of the design group on cross-functional teams addressing web and mobile- related systems and initiatives.

  • Provide ongoing updates and enhancements for existing and future company websites, intranet systems and mobile applications.


 


The goal of this position is to enhance and expand the company’s web and mobile presence as well as improve sales and customer/associate communications through developing and maintaining state of the art design on our web and mobile applications.


 


The position requires:



  • A Bachelor’s degree equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years’ experience designing and developing enterprise level web and mobile applications.

  • Design of PSD’s for visual layout.

  • Responsive website and adherence to mobile-first design principles.

  • Must have a very strong knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and PHP.

  • Experience with eCommerce Platforms, shopping carts and payment get aways

  • Knowledge of Ajax, JSON, AngularJS, Backbone.js, jBootstrap, Cordova/Phonegap, Objective-C and/or XCode is a plus.
